I want to get Gabby a science building kit that has pullies, can build bridges, etc. It is the sort that schools buy. The thing is it is $150 and is really designed for 6-7 kids.

Deklan would love a camera but if I buy him one Gabby will want one too. Argh. I don't want them fighting over the one camera

They have only just had their birthdays so it is hard to think of what else to get them. I don't want to get lots of little pressies because they tend to get misplaced.

My mum is getting them some remote control cars. I asked her to get sturdy ones that won't break easily.

It's creeping up on us isn't it

So far I have ordered

Tully
wooden puppet set
jigsaw

Asher
wooden fruit
jigsaw

ekk haven't got much yet. Plan on getting Tully a big girl bike and asher a wooden train set. Finding it hard to find the right train set though. I love the plantoys stuff but it's a bit exy.

They'll also get new handmade clothes, softies, books and I don't know what else. I found an ace toy shop with lots of wooden and handmade things in it in the little country town we are moving to so I'll fill up their stocking with stuff from there. Not that they need much! I'm packing and chucking stuff at the moment. What is it with those fp little people. I swear they have been having sex and multiplying2lol
I really wanted to make each child a quilt for their beds but that ain't gonna happen

Joh, we got cam a handmade garge/service station thingy for his birthday just gone, i'll dig out a pic.

it was an old guy who made it, its his hobby, it has a lifetime guarantee, so if anything breaks, he will fix it, he said, let the kids, stand, jump do whatever. the only thing he doesnt cover is if its left out in the rain, which is fair enough.

I've finally found a handmade wooden stove/oven in raw pine, and it's locally made for $80, so I guess we'll go and get one soon and hide it in the garage. Maybe a few little things to go with it, but she'll be getting a new baby sister close to Christmas, who'll be giving Evie a new waldorf doll from Moonchild Studio on Etsy. I'm trying to keep gift giving simple so as not to overwhelm Evie, she'll get enough from relatives. Am I supposed to get something for the new baby?

We're taking advantage of the fact Tahlia has no concept of the worth of things, and not going overboard with gifts...

From the inlaws she's getting the target kitchen thing for a combined b'day/xmas gift (fridge, oven, dishwasher, microwave & sink all in one unit), and I'm going to make her some felt foods to play with, we've also got her a metal saucepan set...... and for Xmas (or b'day, haven't decided) we've got her an archery set (suction cup arrows, with a proper target and a plastic bow). We also have a silver locket we got her when she was a bub (hubby's watch was stolen and the insurance money covered a cheaper replacement watch, a ring for me and a locket for Tahlia)...so she should be old enough for that now.

I was just thinking about this yesterday (when seeing the toy catalogues...)
So far they're getting...

Tate ~ Wooden Train Tracks set, books, crafty box, leap pad thing that has been in the cupboard forever!

Zoe ~ monkey from super monkey shop (she loves tates), wooden doll bed I bought at the oppy - I'm going to paint it/make bedding for it, books, beach towel.
I want to visit the wooden toy store in Geelong too - they will get enough plastic from the ILs

Ahh thanks Joh

They have a sand pit

we have a couple of pools none of which were used last summer because it wasn't hot enough

They have had those water play things and I threw them because they never played with it rather make their own water play by digging up the lawn

They have also had train sets and car racing sets and I threw them as well as they never used them and I was sick of picking the bits up

I will keep thinking but thanks anyway
