Redlands hospital supplies sposies only, but Z has only ever been in cloth (I had 2 in my labour nag ready to go) they were more than happy for me to use them and like other PPs they were a big talking point

ETA: this was Redlands Public

Although a long way south, I had Macy at St John of God in Geelong and they have a "Cloth" policy. They only supply cloth and covers and if you want to use disposables, you must provide them yourself. The midwives frowned upon disposables, especially in the first 48 hours, as they liked to monitor wet nappies and said it was too hard with disposables.

I did take a snappi in, and they thought it was the best invention ever. They most do a fold and tuck the top in (too coordinated and hard for me!)

That is what I did after my mum showed me I was a cloth baby until I was tt at 1.5 years old so yay for my mum.

I was lucky. I used cloth and Ash hasn't had a sposie on ever The MW at the Royal Hobart Hospy were great, even changing him on more than one occassion and putting a cloth nappy on him without any comments.

I must say I think it is stupid that you can't use cloth if you are supplying and washing your own.

I had Deklan at the royal in Brissie. We used sposies at the time but during a tour of the place one mum asked if she could use cloth. They said it was fine as long as you took them home to wash. It must be different if your bubs needs to go into the NCIU.

This time I am bringing in some little nappies and dh will take them home to wash.

Yeah, I couldn't see how they could stop you if you brought them in and took them home to be washed.

I only started cloth with DD when she was 4mths so the newborn thing will be a whole new ball game for me (if it even happens ).

8 years ago when my daughter was born, we were provided with terry flats to use during our stay. With my other two kids, we were given disposables, but there was no ban on cloth as far as I know

I had Alex at a public hospital & nothing was supplied! No nappies or pads!! DH had to go buy more pads since I hemorrhaged.

I was given a chart that I had to fill out every time he pooed & weed & it was very hard with a sposie I agree.

It is. DD was in the NICU at the RBWH for five months after she was born. it's a sterile environment so having dirty nappies around is a big no-no.

I'm due to have my two at the Mater and just had a look through the paperwork that they send out. They don't specifically say No Cloth but do say that you will be provided with a packet of disposables. I didn't think to ask when we went for our tour either.
