Default Pregnancy sensitivities, smell, hayfever

I am soooo sensitive to smell atm. For one thing my hayfever is worse and even our cats are now setting it off I am so itchy and keep sneezing at annoying times. With my other two kids I wasn't pregnant at this time of year, which is when my hayfever is usually worse.

Today I went to use the new dishwashing liquid and gaged. I nearly puked. I think it is the smell of it. I just used it again and the same thing happened It's going to be a problem if I keep getting this reaction. Though I do feel tired and a bit off atm.

Any suggestions?

I cant help you with the hayfever during pregnancy. I actually love it when I am pregnant as I dont get it! My hayfever is particularly bad atm also.

I Dr rang the medications in pregnancy hotline when I first got pregnant and Rhinocort was safe if you want some relief.

horseradish is something you can have. it is supposed to desensitise your nose if you have allergies....might even help with smell???

Smell I can relate too. Lamb was what made me puke when pregnant but anything strong I hated.

Ginger is good for nausea.

Hope you feel better soon

oh yeah I am loving the choccie coated ginger biscuits/cake from aldi at the moment. The ones with the apricots in them are the best (although I hated them last year).

My hayfever is starting to get annoying at the moment, but I was told there is nothing I can take

Thanks Sarah

I googled horseradish and some say it is okay when pregnant while others said it can cause miscarriages

I think I will stock up on ginger things. Recently I have wanted honey, ginger macadamia bars. Might be because I really want ginger things atm.

bummer about the horseradish

I used to drink ginger beer. The bubbles made me feel better too

If you like hot drinks. put honey, lemon and fresh ginger in boiled water and let infuse. Strain. can be drunk cold too

I must get some. I wasn't sure about the bubbles but anything ginger would be good atm.

I will have to try this as well. I have all the ingredients and sounds simple to make.

Oh, last pregnancy five months ago, I had all that and really bad nose bleeds. I found Fess nasal drops helped a lot

I suffer from very bad sinus just about all year round. When I was pregnant with Alex my GP checked online (a doctors website of some kind - can't remember the name) & said I could use Polaramine safely. When I went to get it from the chemist, they argued with me, then went & checked themselves & sheepishly came back & said it was ok. Maybe that's something you can check out?
Smells - I had to leave the house if DH was cooking with bacon (he loves it, so I told him he had to cook it himself).
