mrsa is a common super bug - you are correct

it can be killed with sunlight - i remember as a kid my mum given a week off work (she was a charge nurse) to sit in the sun as they used to swab the nurses noses - stopped doing that before i started training as it's pretty much a given that every nurse working in a hospital will have it up their nose at some stage during their career

it really does depend where it is - so please don't worry too much - it's a contact thing
please deep breath's and try hard not to worry too much
    hugs

Try not to let dr google scare you about this one. MRSA is usually harmless and only becomes prolematic to the generally healthy population when it gets into wounds etc. that said i nurse cancer patients every day who have poor immune syatems and have no ill effets of the MRSA that they carry. Most of the time it lives in people noses without us being Any the wiser. Your kids are at no greater risk due to there contact with your grandmother. Please dont getb freked out about this one and i hope your grandmother is Doing better soon. Hope that helps. Hugs.

Totaly agree If your worried sunlight and anti bacterial rinse in your wash will help. Also hand washing regularly is also a really good way to avoid the bacteria

Yep, the gloves gowns and iso is all totally normal for anyone found to be colonised with MRSA but completly freeks people out, so i can completly understand why your worried. Hand washing is really the key though. Sounds like your ontop of it though, so i hope you will sleep tonight. :-)

don't go crazy with anti bacterials 'though - this helped lead to the resistance of this and other super bugs
i concur completely - handwashing is the key - it's why nurses learn to do it very early on, it's why when we are working (i'm not atm) our hands are usually pretty poor
    hugs
and yes it does sound like you'll sleep better now - which is fantastic
