I would go back to FF ver 3.0.11 and see if that helps. You can download it here: Mozilla Firefox 3 and hopefully it will install itself over the top of the current version you have.

I haven't upgraded to the ver 3.5 yet... I never do these things straight away because there are almost always bugs so I like to wait a bit til those are ironed out or at least documented.

Not saying it will help, but it's worth a shot.

Do you have the Google toolbar? Apparently there is a setting in there that can be changed.
