Goodness yes I'm doing that all the time too. We have had a few incidents where DH has left the garage door up all day when I was still working and I had left before him in the morning. Its very icky feeling getting home and seeing the garage door open. I once called DH to see when the last time he was home and he said not since 8am this morning it was after 4pm in the arvo. I was freaking going into the house thinking we might have been robbed (what a lucky robber they would have been) or an axe murderer be waiting for me inside.

Congrats on the car Ying. How exciting.
I mostly put them in my pocket while I'm getting kids out and then bag after that. I do the touching the car thing like heidi said too for Felicity. It really works a treat for us.
I frequently lock the car several times because I'm sure I've forgotten lol. So don't worry too much.
Trish

My car has a little spot on the armrest of the back doors where I sit the keys while dealing with the child on that side. I then pick them up and carry them to the other side to do the other child. I need the key to lock the car as our door locks aren't up near the window so can't reach the front lock from the back. Always makes me remember to pick them up from inside the car, otherwise I'm sure I'd lock them inside the car.
It'll all become second nature pretty quickly and you'll do it all without realising. It's just working out what works the best for you. I can't put my keys in my bag until I've finished with them as I never have enough hands to find them again. Somehow they always fall straight to the bottom.

Another pink bundle due June 2010
I hook mine onto my little finger, or leave them on the seat next to Brock while I get him out. Harry can get himself out so no worries there. Then as I'm lifting Brock out I grab my keys. I have central locking so can't lock my keys in the car, even though I did once in our old car, Harry had the keys in the locked car, I've never been more paniced in my life.
We also have the rule that you need to hang onto "Stanley" (the name we have for the car), both boys stay there holding onto the car while I get my bag/nappy bag stuff out and lock the car.

Congrats Ying! The freedom!
I have a key fob wristlet and just ordered another one
I get out the younger one first, who is less likely to run or usually strapped on and then get miss 3 out.
No real advice - my car has central locking and I lock the door with the keys so I can't lock them in it - but I wanted to say YAY Ying!!!
Congrats Ying! - Must be a great feeling.![]()
