I find the pouch better than a ring sling for the first few months. Mine 3.5 mo old is refluxy and needs to be upright, but the slings rings would be on her head for it to sit right on my shoulder...so for now she is in the pouch and it is perfect. I tend to use the ring sling when we are out and then I can throw the tail over if we are feeding...
