yep - i agree with this, 'daddy' will probably be the favourite when she is older as they usually do more 'spoiling' and less 'disciplining'

Jade didn't really want a bar of her dad at first (especially as a baby!)- only when she got older was she interested and less 'needy' with me. now she will go to anyone - infact she is probably too affectionate with others - she tries to hug/kiss her teachers at monti 'goodbye' instead of the handshake they want - guess that also comes from being in an affectionate dutch family

Of course depends on their personality too - Bree happily goes to daddy atm (almost 16months) as long as she's not tired or wanting a feed

One thing we did that I think helped cure the problem is started having daddy do bedtime (reading books in bed). She was a bit over three at the time. She didn't like it for a few days and she did cry a bit but since she was with her daddy I didn't consider it CIO in any way.

I don't really have any advice for a two year old though.

Thanks everyone
As I said last night she happily played with him for 40 mins whilst I was out of the room but as soon as I walked past her to get a drink and she saw me she had to be with me. What prompted the question was when we came home last night she carried on for nearly 2 hours (that was the worst yet) over her dad just screaming "no" at him.
I think I am feeling it more lately as DP has a new job which means he works some weekends and I am exhausted also she has needed heaps of cuddles lately so my back is killing me LOL Funnily enough last night she wanted water in a bottle and for me to hold her and feed her as you would a little baby - so I figure it is a stage.
I think I will also have to be more concious about "not taking over" also and involving DP more.
Thanks again
Shelly
