Why do you Wah?

I was thinking about this the other day and was curious as to why you started.....

Financial?
Hobby?
Other?

I don't do it for financial reasons, I'm not actually making a great deal!
I started because I need something creative to do to take my mind of my depression.
Now it's a hobby - I'll happily neglect the housework to go and sew instead. (Who wouldn't !?)

For those that do it financially - do you find it that substantial?
I'm looking at returning to work soon but would love to stay doing this if I could earn something worthwhile.

We'd run a profit if I could stop buying fabric. *weg* But that's not really why I do it. Lolly has just started back at daycare one day a week again, and on that day I sew & create for my little business & nothing else! No cleaning, no cooking, etc...I consider it my adult-time where I can do something creative, artistic and productive. It's a little selfish, but I find it fufilling & I think *I* need that time by myself to be a content mum/human being too! 'Cause if Mama ain't happy, aint nobody happy....*lol*

Well, if I hadn't started selling something, what on earth would I do with all that fabric! LOL
I am a compulsive fabric shopper - needed to sell some of it in one form or another. Also I love to create things... so it is my outlet too

I just started doing Tupperware..dont know if that qualifies as a WAH..to me its for something to do and to fund my liking for the product. I also dont think I could return to full time work for a couple of yrs so at least i can put something down on my resume.

glorified hobby ... plus the joy of patting the naps ... u guys should see what's in the back of my station wagon atm!!! gotta get it all inside before a nappy nerd walks past and spies it lol

also like Lexi it is "me" time - and I really enjoy creating our logos etc, extra skills to learn.

While it isn't me who WAH - it is DH and it is mostly financial (he freelances) but there is some hobby in there as well.

its a bit of both for me. i was working f/t till about a mth ago but because of pretty bad pnd i cant cope with ft work so i am doing 2 things , nappies (new financial year) and total learning which is kids books, i am passionate about kids learnign to read and explore books so i guess a bit of all of the options ! plus it means i feel like i am contributing more financially aswell as being here with the boys.

I have 3 under 5yrs and noone to look after the littlies if I went to work, DH is a pilot so away a bit and finding work that's flexible and pays enough so I can afford ChildCare is impossible, very frustrating I am hoping to go back to some casual work next financial year until then I like to feel like I'm contributing to our household financially, but I don't want my children institutionalised I worked in ChildCare before having ours and swore I wouldn't put mine in full time care, at least until they're at school. I love being home with them, nothing better!!!
