We are Aussies from way back. I think both of us have rellos coming over from Ireland about 200+ yrs ago.

Mum: Canadian (with English heritage)
Dad: Australian (also English heritage)

DH: Anglo Aussie with some German (his grandmother may have an Aboriginal ancestor, but that's just speculation).

do most of the children take after say the more of the mix parent

I know a couple with a white-as-white hubby, & a white/Indian wife (Indian dad, white mum). Their first child looked much more like her, & the second looked so white you wouldn't have a clue one of the grandparents was Indian.

My side is white Aussie (mostly Irish, English stock).

Jake's side are white Aussies too lol (more interesting though, Scottish, German as well as English).

We're both quite a few generations removed from those places though, realistically we're Australian and nothing else.

I *wish* I had a bit more ethnicity in my heritage!

My father is Welsh (born there)
Mother is 75% welsh, 25% bitsa (bon here)
So I think of myself as Welsh- Australian, as I have alot of Welsh in me (love music, some words). Bit bizarre, but at times I have an English accent. I have always been proud that I am not a WASP, and mostly Celt.

DF is a bit Welsh, but the rest is bitsa. His family is long time Australian.

One weird fact:
DF's last name is also my mothers maiden name...... and my fathers mothers maiden name. My family tree has mostly his last name.

My Dad was born in England - his mum was Irish and his dad, English.
My Mum was born in Oz to Chinese Mum and Danish/Oz Dad.

My DS1's Dad was New Guinean (he has his dad's looks and a lovely "tanned" skin and unruly hair.....LOL)
DD & DS2's Dad is Aussie (DD looks like her father, DS2 is more like me!)

How's that for a mix? LOL

My mum is English (english/welsh parents), my dad was Australia (with english/scottish parents).

I was born here in little 'ole Adelaide. DH is from California (his parents were born in the US but with norwegian/czech/german backgrounds.

boys are Aussies and both look like both of us. (some people have actually said that me and my SIL's could be sisters)

My father is Chinese by race, but was born in Fiji, educated in Australia and is now an American citizen and has lived there for 30 years.

My mum is "Oz as" (born in Muswellbrook) back to the First Fleet, but lives in America now.

I was born in Fiji, look like a typical "Eurasian" (dark eyes, dark hair, people ask if I am Italian!). I lived in America for a portion of my childhood and have a slight accent hanging on from that (people ask if I am Canadian!). I've been an Australian citizen my whole life and have always considered myself Australian even though I wasn't born here.

My hubby is "Oz as" and has no real idea at what point the ancestors came to Australia.

Three of my four kids look like me - dark hair, dark eyes. My third child is the image of my hubby - bluie eyes, blonde hair. You'd never think she had a Chinese grandfather!

My Mum's side: Australian, with German & English decendents, however Mum speaks and teaches three Aboriginal languages and grew up with Aboriginal family.

My Dad's side: Australian: Dad has a White father & Aboriginal Mum (from [] mob), have family history tracing back along the generations to Aboriginal family in the early days of 'settlement', first Indigenous politician and church minister in SA. Also somewhere in there is rel to Ghengis Kahn decendents plus a few other things in for good measure (not sure which side off the top of my head). Some history is lost due to 'child removal' policies, some mixed race unions were non-consentual. Many many long stories along the way...

My brother ([]-skin name) has the darker skin, brown eyes, hair etc and I ([]-skin name) unfortunately copped what I've got. Light olive skin (depends on the time of year), blue green eyes and mongrel hair colour.
sucks having to constantly explain and justify yourself to anyone who makes it their business.
Related to half of SA and Vic and a generous amount of WA as well, one way or another!

As for our munchkins
Zeke has the olive skin, dark hair, dark blue eyes
Brooke has 'standard' (lol) skin, blue eyes, blonde/brown hair
Jake has the lightest skin, blue eyes, blonde/brown hair and a sprinkle of tiny freckles about the place.
all three have our family nose
and I love 'em all.
I have no idea's personally on who looks like who coz I think they look like a mix of both of us, and can see hints of other family in some expressions, gestures, actions etc.
But people say one or the other usually.
