Default Longies and Ergo

I'm curious - how do you find using longies with bubs when they're in an Ergo? I have a pair of Illamajama but for a few times I notice that there are some legs marks left on Rebecca's inner knees and thighs after I take her out of an Ergo. I know the Ergo probably cut into her thighs so I emailed and asked Jayne@ Nurture Nappies (who's always very fantastic). She said it's probably because the extra softness of the alpaca/wool blend is not providing as strong as barrier between the skin and the Ergo as some other wool or pants.

I have never put on other pairs of longies when Rebecca's in the Ergo so I have no idea if they make any difference (regular cotton pants are ok with the Ergo) I used to have another pair of longies which I gave to my cousin, so now I only have one pair.
I don't want to return them to Jayne because I need a pair of longies in this season
Any thoughts?

Are the red marks very bad? To me it doesn't sound right that the longies wouldn't stop marks as they are soft. I'd be more inclined to think it was the way she was sitting.

trying to visualise how the ergo would leave marks on the inner thighs and knees anyway? cos the inner legs are against you, if anything, i'd expect marks on the outer thighs? sounds like the back of the ergo needs to come up higher - is her bum hanging down over the waist strap?

I'm pretty sure I wear the Ergo right. Her bum hangs down under the waist strap but her knees rub against the lower part of the pouch. maybe that's what irritates the skin?

I noticed the other day Alia had some (not too bad) red marks on the back of her knees from the Ergo which doesn't usually happen. I'm pretty sure it was just the way she was sitting that day.

hmm, on mine, ben's bum doesn't hang down, he sits on it, iykwim. his tummy and the inside of his thighs are up against me, bub shouldn't be hanging down so that there's parts of the carrier inbetween the legs and you...
there are some good pics here:

Thanks for those links Bek! Isn't it great to see men carrying bubs?

It's also great to see them cooking too

Thanks Bek, great pics Rebecca sits like pics 1&2 - her knees run against the bottom part of the pouch like the pics. Hmm.. maybe I'll just give up on using the longies with the Ergo and stick to normal pants.

so it's the back of her knees that are getting the marks then?
