I do the Flylady thing and vacumn every Monday and that's it.
I spot clean (might sweep out the kitchen if we've had a messy baking session, etc...), but otherwise it stays looking suprisingly tidy on a once a week schedule.

I vacum twice a week if not more (depending if the kids are pigs) and I sweep whenever I see a mess on the floor.

I aim for once a week, but it's probably more like once a fortnight or when people are expected I get my butt in to gear!

liam is terrified of the vacuum, will freak out until he vomits sadly, so i only do it twice a week when he is out of the house at daycare, it drives me batty as the mess gathers daily and i can't do anything about it!!

Until we started doing the renos - EVERYDAY. I hate feeling crud under my feet.
But with renos, I could vaccumm and it is just as bad 10 mins later. I have had to take to wearing shoes in the house (which I detest) so I don't feel the things under my feet. Mind you the house can look like a bomb has gone off, but I hate feeling crud under my feet
