Hi ParasiteEve. I wear shoes (or slippers) in my house most of the time. We have a lot of hard floors and it's too cold to get around with just sox on. I'm taking it that you love your new Dyson, as you're using it so much. I'm thinking of geting one. I noticed a friend has one, and it has this powerbrush in the head of it. Do you think it would be o.k for using on hard floors? What do you think of the Dyson in general. DH wants me to ask around re. the Dyson before forking out the money, as they aren't cheap.

I'm a once a week girl. All my house work gets done on Tuesday. We have swimming in the morning and I know Harry will have a sleep so that's when it gets done.

well, I'm gonna be straight out honest
![]() I used to vacumn once a week, and sweep in between (we have floor boards throughout the whole house) but the past few weeks I've been so sick that I haven't vacumned once! I have been sweeping, once a week or when it needs it, but I've been to slack to vacumn. -Tina

But after using it a couple of times i knew how invaluable the Dyson is to me. My house is 80% carpeted & i have a crawler & a cat. When i used my old vacuum i had to vacuum like 4-5times over the same spot just to get the car fur out of the carpet. This is over a small area, imagine how tiring it is trying to vacuum over & over again throughout the whole house. With the Dyson, i can actually see things i don't even know exist being sucked into the bag (ok.. container?)Ok.. enough about my love for the Dyson. About the powerbrush head.. yes its good but you actually don't use it for floorboards. When i vacuum my kitchen, i actually press this button where the powerbrush goes in instead of out, so i don't see how that will also benefit floorboards. I also have an attachment for using on floorboards i think (which is totally diff to my powerbrush). But honestly, if i didn't have carpet.. i wouldn't buy it. I think you can get away with a normal vacuum? |

It might take a couple of months or so Renee, but that fluff does go away, eventually.
Tina if you're sick, you're definitely excused from vaccuming. My place goes to hell when I'm sick. It's funny how husbands don't notice these things need doing . I hope your pregnancy is going well (and you're not getting too much morning sickness).

ParasiteEve, thanks for the run down on the Dyson. What a bummer, looks like it's not worth me getting one. I wonder what would be especially good on hard floors. Someone the other day said a Vax is good, because it washes as well as vacuums. I wonder how wet your floors are after that??? Apparently good for when your kids have gastro IYKWIM. Oops sorry if I've made you sick Tina.
