I used to be one
We refuse to answer the phone during our meal. If it's froends/family they will ring back and it's not the ideal time to chat anyway. DH's work will use his mobile and if it's a telemarketer the system will remember it's a good time to ring because you answered the phone. My reply depends on my mood. If I can't be bothered I'll say sorry not interested and hang up before they get their next breath. If it's one with a deal, sometimes I'll see if they can beat our current one. If it's charity, I ask them to post something and we'll consider it. |

I actually don't answer my phone anymore. Well, I let the answering machine pick up and most telemarketers will hang up. Everyone I know knows that I screen my calls. It has saved me a lot of hassles.
I had a telemarketer ring me on a Saturday morning once...totally caught me offguard. Told a lie to get rid of time. |

A telemarketer called us at 8am last week as they were "targetting working people"!!! Unbelieveable.
I get about 1 call a day. After they've said their first sentence and when they go to take a breath, I just say "I'm not interested" and hang up.

i don't answer the phone. i let it go to the machine and if it's a telemarketer then they usually DON'T leave a message and hang up
i esp dont' answer if it's dinner time/bath time/bed time. phone's not that important. if they really want to talk to me they'll leave a message or call back.DH had one the other day though and his response is still cracking me up.... DH's end of the convo went like this: "Hello" "Who?" "What?" "Pork? "What?" "Huh?" "Surley Pork?" the telemarketer hung up on DH!!!! |

Another tip is if you have a particular talkative toddler, hand them the phone and let them speak to their hearts content

I sooo hear you guys!! Ihave had a run of them in the last 2-3 days. I ususally just butt in when they start and say I'm not interested. I have just put the phone down a few times. I fantisise about tall the clever things I can say but never do
My DH is such a sucker he listens to them ![]() I confess I am a bit of a phone phobic. I had a job for about 8 years that was constant phone calls and now I hate the bloomin thing. My DH complains that I never answer when he calls ![]() I figure I pay for the phone for my convenience and no-one else's so I can answer if I choose ![]() If it is urgent they will ring back or leave a message.
