We had a bin faery and a hose faery.
Each week she would take the bins out 2 days early, and every morning hose my plants on full. She was also kind enough to hose the windows, even if they were open. We were in a block of units, and resorted to sneaking out at night, dodging toads (Lismore), and hiding the hose attachments. Sadly, she bought her own

![]() Tricky one huh. It's sad in a way that (and I know it would be among my thoughts too, don't worry) that immediately we think 'OMG' kinda thing - (queue 3 Bears music) who's been playing in my yard, rather than 'oh how nice'... yk? When the new neighbours move in I take over a loaf of fresh baked bread or something from the garden - and it spins them right out, and they can see who it is. I don't mean to spin them out, I just think it's better than not knowing whether to pretend you don't see each other, or wave or what. So I get what you're saying. I've thought of bringing next door's bin in a few times, or putting it out if she's forgotten, but wonder whether she might spin out too yk. So yes, be worried, but yes be thankful, but yes feel stoked that someone thought enough to be so kind but yes be wierded out... all at the same time... wierd huh. any other clues as to who? and yes, maybe it's a maintenence dude who's got the wrong address? And maybe the place they are meant to be going just hasn't followed up on why their own place hasn't been done, and just hired someone else? Dunno where the bill is going but... ! And for sure... I'd be detectiving away too 'til I sussed it out! Just coz!

I'd think it creepy too Kristie...... I have a lawn and handyman elf..... mows my lawn and fixes the fence when I'm not home..... but I know who it is. I'm grateful to him, but I don't know how to tell him.... coz he might stop YK?And the funny thing is - he started doing it just after I bought a brand new mower ..... (that has now been used once in 6 months....)

If that was in my street, I would think its probably one of my neighbours - we always do stuff like that to help each other out and not often bother to tell each other.
Maybe its someone trying to get a bit of community spirit going? I'd drop a nice note to your neighbours telling them what happened and thanking the person... that way, you're covering your bases - thanking whoever it was while at the same time, alerting your neighbours that something unusual happened and maybe they'll keep an eye out for you (or maybe they have already seen something).
