hey, see my 'location' above my post count!
(we used to have a very cheesy tourism slogan/state pride ad's - SA GREAT!![]() Love SA - I love the dry hot summers the best, so i would also consider living in qld when i am old and wrinkly! ![]() we have all the seasons, but not as cold as melbourne haha.I like how adelaide is sleepy and quiet - everybody knows somebodies relatives/friends here

Being a foreigner, I dont know if I'm entitled to give opinions
I have lived in 3 different states in 5 1/2 years so I kind of can tell the differences. I lived in Adel for almost a year. Love it for peaceful and simple life. The weather isn't too bad but can get too dried for me in summer. I find that it sometimes can get a bit boring though but all in all it's a cute little city. Then Melb, love the city itself. Those building and architects are beautiful but oh the weather...shopping is great there too ![]() And then NSW. I don't know...I think I just love it because I have been here longest and I think of it as my home now. I got married here, bought a house and had a baby. Will be here for quite a long time I think, but if we got to move in the future I'd consider ACT.

I love NSW, but HATE sydney. I wouldnt live there in a fit!
I love living in Newcastle. Emilys hospital is in Sydney, so not too much of a drive. We came very close to moving to Dubbo once, but couldnt leave. DF wants to move to QLD, but it will never happen. He also once wanted to move to remote SA too!

I love NSW..only been to Vic & ACT and while its nice ot visit I don think i could live in either. I am a shopping freak but preferred syndey shopping cause i know where to go..i spent a week exploring the melbourne cbd cause we were stayin in the middle of the city..
Things I love about NSW: Hunter Valley only 2 hrsdrive away The fact my inlaws are in the same state but 6 hrs away..way too far to travel regularly ![]() Awesome beaches 15 mins away Big shopping centres 15 mins away CBD 20 mins away from where I live anyway... |

I think we are just lucky to live in Australia! Its a beautiful country - all the states i think have gorgeous places to live.
Personally, I find Adelaide very 'liveable'. It takes 15-20mins to get everywhere! You can feel like your miles away when you've only driven for half an hour out of the city. Our shopping is getting better! The people are friendly and the town is small enough to walk. I like the four seasons we have, and the lack of traffic. I love to visit Melbourne - wish i had someone to visit there more often coz i love the shopping. couldn't cope with the traffic though to live in! Can't say i have much fondness for Sydney. Having said that, I think anywhere country Australia would be beautiful to live in. I've never been to Perth but i imagine that i could live there. It would be my next choice to Adelaide. |

You would really have to like the cold!! I went there in the middle of winter and froze!! Nice place but very laid back. Nothing like Sydney lol

![]() I dont think there is a best place, just what feels right to each person. Having said that, I have only lived in Vic and have no other experiences to compare to. Things I like in a place is friendly people, good choice of resturants/shopping, more layed back attitude and space. A lovely friend of mine who lives in Daylesford fell in the street the other week and she is 8 months pregnant, do you think anybody offered to help her?? of course not!!! What is up with that?? I makes me sick when people are like that.
