Default OT - how long to cook

I bought a piece of rump top end for a roast tonight, with absolutely no fat on it.

I know how long I would normally cook a leg of lamb for (very rarely do we eat roast beef), but frankly I have no idea specially seeing it has no fat on it, and I don't want to dry it out (cause DH will whinge and complain like normal )

It is a one kilo piece and I am thinking I will cook it in the electric frypan with the veges. Any ideas of how long to put it on for??

I normally cook mine in the oven (fan forced) for 40mins per 500gms - this will normally still be pink inside however as we like medium. You are right to be cautious with it not having any fat on it - I normally poke holes in it and insert garlic then slather with seeded mustard. But then again I am only cooking for DH and me, no fussy kids lol

Depends how you like it. I like pink roast lamb and cook it at a high tem (approx 220 deg C). I cook it for 10-15 mins per 100g for it to be pink. I then let it rest covered in foil for 20-30 mins depending on how much time I've got.

My Commonsense Cookery Book says 60mins per kg at 160-180 deg C. I've never cooked it in an electric frypan sorry.

i like using oven bags for roasting meat - no mess and it stays tender.(so im told)
i tend to overcook mine to be sure its not rare - but no-ones ever noticed as it never dries out
