We had already discussed moving interstate in the past & the his boss told him about this job on Monday & we discussed it again and said if je was offered it he would take it...and the big boss called him today and told him the job was his!!!! His boss told him to talk it over with me again tonight and dates etc will be confirmed in the next few day!!!

He wouldn't dare take a job interstate without asking me!!!!!

Malaga is easily accessible from the south via the Roe Hwy. You could live anywhere along the Roe or the Freeway south of where they meet and still get to Malaga within an hour.

What type of lifestyle are tou looking for? Shopping Centres, cafes river, beach, parks? Also depends on your budget.

Personally I love the City of Belmont. Lots of parks - nice ones too not just bits of dead grass, big shopping cemtre, 15 mins to the city, 5 mins to the river, Cafe strip in Vic Park (10 mins), under half hour to Malaga... or anywhere really - hills or beach. Some of its suburbs had a bad rep but not so much now. Our house is in the "bad" suurb but it has 2 distinct areas and we have only ever has our mower stolen - cause we left it in the open garage, so our fault really.

If you give us more details we might be able to help but definatelty rent first.

We made the big move over here from SA to Perth back in late 2003, and I have to brag that I just love love love it here, it was the best thing we ever did. I really couldnt recommend a suburb out of preference, Perth is full of so many great places to live!

We ended up SOR because all of our family is this way and we really like the lifestyle. I love Fremantle for the markets, the shops in Cannington and the beachy lifestyle of Rockingham. I'm a country girl and I really despise traffic (and being stuck in it!) so I choose to live where its a bit more peaceful and less chaotic traffic-wise (coming from Sydney I doubt that would be an issue for you though!) My DH travels 30 mins north everyday for work, and will be travelling about 45-1hr next year because we are moving further down south (to even less traffic, lol) past the foothills to be closer to Rockingham.

I agree with whoever recommended renting out somewhere central (like Belmont, which is where we first started out) so you can spend your spare time driving around through Perth to get a gist of what YOU would like best.

honestly at the end of the day anywhere you wind up around here you will be happy- north or south! The lifestyle here is fantastic, second to none in my opinion.

yep, from where we are you can easily hop on to Reid Hwy to Malaga in... 15-20mins dep on traffic.

Aww thanks so much for all your help girls I brought a Perth Street directory today so i will be able to get a better idea of where everything is.

I like the idea of living closeish to the water...atm we are about 1-1.5 hours away from the water...so even 15 minutes away from the beach would be great. I also hate traffic which is one of the reasons we are getting out of Sydney. I'd also like to be around parks so i can take DS there once he starts walking.

Looks like i will be going over in a month for a week to meet up with DH (who is riding across in 2 weeks...crazy man!!!!) so i think i will hire a car and have a drive around
