I am off to Perth in under 2 weeks and i am using cloth the whole way. We are mainly staying at MIL's house so there will be no problems with washing. I keep getting told to buy some sposies from well meaning relatives, just in case. Just in case of wha
t? I havent really travelled for such a long period (3 weeks), please tell me i will be fine..... I think i need some reassurance from you gals out there who have!

We've never had a problem with cars, planes or staying in hotels or with people. If on long car trips, I treat it like a night nappy but with a PUL cover. Take extras on planes, you never know what is going to happen. And when staying with helpful relatives wash them yourself
They always seem to feel the need to put extra detergent in or tumble dry them so they're nice and soft. We've found it useful to buy a packet of flats when we get there and then just leave them there, and use them as night nappies or around the house. It just means packing less. Deb

My mum likes to remind me that they travelled to SA from NSW in a caravan when my little sister was only a few months old and they just used terry flats and survived. You'll be fine! People just like to freak you out cos you're "unconventional".
There are laundromats around and if you're staying with family you can just use their machine.

Go the flats! hehee
We're going the opposite direction lol and I was planning on just taking some flats and a couple of MCN to show off but since my MIL is so interested in this 'new nappy business' she wants to see it all. She's even knitted her first soaker to show off to me (I'm sure she must've used soakers on her kids??) Anyway, so looks like I'll have a suitcase of MCN to take lolGreat idea about buying the flats while there to leave there. What a great option! Same price as a packet of disposables but will last and last and last Cas |

how old is your bub Pearl?
i get the "travelling with cloth" once bubs are on solids and the poos peel or roll off, but i can't really get my head around "travelling with cloth" whilst the runny explosive poos are stilll happening. Just outside my sphere of experience - not saying it can't be done, i just dont know how (would love to hear how it's done) *cough* i couldn't imagine going anywhere without packing the Little Squirt not sure what i'd do ON the journey!!! i would be so upset if we went anywhere (fat chance) and DIDN"T use MCN.

definitely pack some flushable liners! flats and pockets are the way to go (plus whatever night nappy combo you're using). if you've got a LS and you'll be at MIL's for a while, it may be worth taking it with you - i've not done that, but my best friend always did (her ds is out of nappies now) as it's so easy to uninstall/ reinstall
