Hi there,
Just wanted to let people know our cloth travel adventure on our recent 10 day driving trip in Victoria. This is what we (DH + me) took, for our 5 month old son: 5 bamboo flats 5 bamboo fitteds 1 hemp fitted 1 AIO fleece liners 3 PUL covers 3 night nappies 1 wool cover for the NN cloth wipes I figured the flats would dry fast, the fitteds are good for fast changes in less than ideal circumstances, and the night nappies are essential, and cut down on overall nappy use... We washed every second or third day- the hot, dry weather meant that we had no problems drying. We used three sposies (borrowed from others) as it was so hot (above 30 degrees!!) on a few nights that I thought the night nappy + wool cover was too much. We used disposable wipes when we were on the move, cloth and water wipes when in one place. We actually could have done it without the hemp fitted- it didn't get used in the end, nor did the AIO (but I was visiting people who are just starting out in cloth- they wanted to have a bit of a look...) We put the used nappies in a plastic bag, in the boot of the car. Any nappies that weren't quite dry when we had to drive were dried off under the rear window, or on the dashboard. We also aired the wool NN cover on the dashboard. So prob good against would-be car thieves, too... ![]() Anyway, we were very happy with how easy it turned out to be! |

well done I say!
![]() and see - warm weather and travel can get nappies dry real quick - we did similar to your dashboard ones while away too I even pegged up our dry MCN shirt lol so everyone could have a read and you did well not taking an entire stash, while still managing to take enough, iykwim so thumbs up on that too.I only wanted to add that when I first started with wool covers, in the middle of summer and while up north I initially wondered about how warm they would be, and when I thought about it well, having anything on your bum when its hot is one thing but at least the cloth nappy and wool cover can breathe iykwim? what I mean is not putting a dampner on things, just offering our experience night nappying with cloth+wool. I reckon good on you, and yay for travelling with cloth! youll be all set for next time huh! ![]() (eta pardon no apostrophe - keyboard is on apostrophe strike!)
