Default What to do?

Becky has been using a potty nicely the past few days for both poo and wee She just did it a few mins ago without me asking if she wanted to do it I think it's because I give her lots of nappy free time, and she's really getting it right now. She doesn't use hte potty if she wears a nappy but she tells me she's done it especially with poo. She's happy to wear nappies and will tell me if she wants to, and I have no problems with that

My question is...should I continue giving her nappy free times even though it's freezing cold? I didn't expect her to try TT'ing in winter, but that's her perrogative If I put an undies on, she's slower to recgonize she needs to go

And now a dilemma of pants.. Everything is too big on her now that she doesn't wear nappies at home. We still put nappies on her when we're out but at home all the pants are falling off her tiny tush. She can sorta fit in size 0-1 pants without nappies on but they're so short on her. What do you do with your kids?

Have you tried training pants Ying? They would probably come small enough and if she was slower to recognise and had an accident, it wouldnt be such a mess.
If its warm enough in your home though, Id just continue with nappy free time when your home

I went all in with the boys. They started off with no pants at home and it was a little cooler here too but I found they didn't feel it as much as I did. Just make sure the house is warm. I also took them out in undies. Once it was no more nappies it really was no more nappies. Yes they had a couple of accidents but having them helps them learn when they have left it too late. I also night trained at the same time.
Within a week they were both trained (I did them at the same time) day and night. For about a month we had the occasional accident at night in thier pants on the way to the toilet and we had three accidents when we were out but nothing a change of clothes couldn't fix.

Alastair doesn't wear pants if he's at home & nappy-less (he'll just pee on them as if it were a nappy and I don't want to do that much washing!) He doesn't seem to get cold, we do use the heater a little to keep the chill out of the air when necessary. Oh, and he wears socks (What about BabyLegs/knee-high socks?)

His pants fall down w'o a nappy too - he's not petite but has a small bum for his size - but I figure by the time I'm confident having him go out nappy-less it'll be spring and 3/4 length pants will be fashionable!

Ying it might be a case of TT becky when she is ready and that might be now.

Why not get her some fleece trackies and just go knickerless until she is ready for that transisiton.

Flynn went without undies for about a week or so cause he just didn't like the feel of them.

Even yesterday he wore no undies but he did have flongies on.

Why not get some flongies custom made for her and that way if she won't wear undies at least her bits are warm.

It took a long time for Mila to get the hang of undies. So for a long time we just put trackies/flongies/tights on her at home. They were easy for her to pull down and up on her own.

Nappy free time is great but the more you try her with clothes on the quicker she will get the idea...so what if she gets a bit wet.

Mila used to forget sometimes so would do a little trickle, realise and then run to the potty. You may also just need to put the idea in her head occasionally. The accidents here always occurred when Mila was very "busy". So every now and then I would just say "do you need the potty" or "im going to the toilet do you want the potty too?"

Its exciting isnt it We had lunch at a restaurant yesterday and Mila actually asked me if she could go the the toilet! I was stoked. She has only just stopped using the potty on Thursday and is using the toilet now. She still wears nappies when we are out so this was a very exciting progression

Wow, she's been using a potty without an accident the whole day today Poo, wee and all that

I just put a pair of leggings on her and she pulled them down by herself before she went to sit on the potty

She doesn't seem to mind the undies, I'll see if she'll pull them down before using the potty again later We will continue with nappy free time at home whilst keeping the house a bit warmer. She doesn't like baby legs, they always leave marks on her too even though she doesn't have chubby thighs

I don't think we're (Becky and I) ready for nappy less when we're out quite yet though. Not that I mind a little accident but she's scared of sitting on a toilet, even a little one at parents room seems too big for her. The other day she almost fell into it!

WTG Becky

Caitlyn is a little skinny minny so we have been putting extra elastic into all of her pants for the last 5 years I just buy some nice thick non-roll elastic & put a small piece (approx. 7-8cm) on the inside of the back of the pants. It does make the pants gather funny at the back if you need to pull them in a lot but at least they don't fall down Adjustable waists are great too although we are now having problems with Caitlyn (who needs a size 7 or 8 for length) that even adjustable waist pants pulled in as far as they go are still too big for her She actually has a pair of size 1 pants that she still wears as shorts & they fit her beautifully - much better than any size 7 shorts I could buy for her.

We just jinxed it
She was showing signs she wanted to pee so I rushed in and helped her pulling off the pants, but it's too late she'd wet her pants a little. Then I thought she was finished and she went back to play, a sec later she wet the floor with a huge puddle

oh well, it's just the beginning so accidents happen
