    Question Chubby bubby help

Well our little girl is 15 weeks tomorrow and is growing so quickly. Teegan has the most gorgeous fat chubby thighs and they are lovely, neither the boys had chubby thighs so this is all new.

We are having trouble with nappies fitting. We have heaps of itti's (d'lish and original pul) in medium and she is on the second last snap but still getting red around the legs after wearing them. We are getting use out of our large nappies as well. We use a medium and a large KK at night as well as a large VBSN.

Has anyone had a chubby thighed bub that is in large nappies early who then goes back to fitting mediums?

What nappies did you find best to use, as I think I'll be buying more soon.

Neither of the boys went back into mediums Kara... L was in larges by 5 mths due to his thigh size...up until he TT'd. 33cm thighs will do that though.

I've just bought an XL nappy for Master J for nights... and he's been walking for 6 mths!

Side snappers lasted the longest on them too.

yep. Zeke was into mediums by 5 weeks and larges only months after that. He had rolls on his rolls and the chunkiest bum and thighs. Then, as everyone said he probably would, when he started walking, he slimmed a little and we did need medium for some things but most we managed to stay in large on the smallest setting.

We were larges all the way - my girls' thigh measurements match some babies' waists!
Side snaps or snappis are the only ones we can wear, and even some side snaps aren't adjustable enough.

I was thinking of buying some putting 12 d'lish on laybuy, I might wait and see if her shape changes. I only have 1 sidesnap aurial size 2 as I sold the rest as Jude didn't need them and we had way to many nappies. Oh, I should have kept them.

I think side snappers are a better fit on chunky thighs, megs got chubby thighs but no waist so mainly the side snaps work for her, i also find applix front close rather than snaps better tho the magicalls we haev are good cos they are BIG! megs 22 mths now and some things shes a med ( just) most shes a lge tho and has been since she was about 10 mths.

i think my bub was less in kg at the same age, but she did have the three rolls of fat on each thigh from 4 - 11 months. (when crawling started).

the solution given to me, was to try sidesnappers. I tried it and for the most part, that worked. I would not say that 100% of sidesnap brands we tried worked, but most did.

from 11 - 14 months (when walking started), the three rolls altered to eventually (and still) one small roll of fat at the top of each thigh.

The sidesnappers are still doing it for us, not just because she still fits into those nappies, i just think SS suit her body shape.

Being able to separately adjust teh waist and leg closures is a big bonus for us.

How many kilos is your baby now?
i think (in general) that the nappies that use the 7 - 16kg weight range (often called LARGE or SIZE 2), are a very generous sized option - that gives you alot of flexibility.

it's so hard to say catergorically which nappies would work - but i do lean towards sidesnappers for the separate adjustment thing.

i also liked fitted nappies that you do up with snappis, in the early days, for lots of flexibility. e.g tots bots size 2, 7 - 16kg? there are some velour fitteds on bubblebubs too, i think they are snappi do up too.

Woollies, with drawstrings and no leg elastic, are highly adjustable too. i tried those from four months onwards. Easy to upsize with woolly shorties - i think Possum Pouches only have two sizes - just pull it in with drawstring. We are still on size 1 at 11kg.

for next winter, longies and flongies are options (with no leg elastic to contend with).

each baby has their own needs
e.g rise, width of crotch, how much absorbency they need, how long they are.

My bub has not gone backwards in MCN sizes, but she has stayed the same in sizes, and plateaued with her weight, after undergoing major bodyshape changes.

i think a well versed MCN seller can help you work that out, but you need to give them enough to work with. Kilos, measurements, names of brands that already work well on her. WHich brands don't work and why.

i have worked out what suits my baby's body type, after LOTS of trial n error! the first 12 months, i kept putting her in stuff that really wasn't suitable, but i kept thinking, i must be putting it on her wrong.

i miss my DD's three rolls of fat now it isn't there!

yes, it is a pity you sold your Auriel's, but nevermind, you'll get something else just as lovely. I was just looking at some minky Daddledoo's on wahmnaps, side snap ones, i think they were 6 - 14kg. no front on photo, but they are described as sidesnaps. The mummy n me shop had SS too. Have you seen the SS at dragonflymagik? they're Ai2 and come in the size 1 and 2.
