Default Changing stash - changing needs

I'm not sure if this is the right spot... please move it if not

Basically our nappy needs are changing somewhat. DD2 is now startnig to use a potty a bit!! I know, she's only 7 months and I certainly don't regard it as anything like TTing - I just figured that seeing as she could sit up by herself I'd put her on the potty and see what happened. Well, she loves it! So we are kind of doing EC to an extent I guess - I realised there were certain times she'd wet or dirty her nappy, so I put her on the potty at these times and she uses it (it's not like I can tell by her body language, though, and I can't seem to influence her to do it if she doens't want/need to). For example, as soon as we get out of bed in the morning she sits there for 5-10 minutes and for the last week she has been doing a wee & poo every morning in the potty. Now when she's finished she also looks for my hands so she can take hold and pull herself to stand up - kind of telling me she's finished I suppose!!

I also noticed that basically after every sleep and feed she does a wee, so I'm using the potty at these times when I can, too - anything to save washing! She still has a nappy on at other times as I'm not watching her 100% and trying to do the EC thing all the way as I don't feel I have the time/energy, etc what with also chasing after DD1. She also does poos at unpredictable intervals, too - so one day might just be her morning one, other days she'll have 2 or 3 throughout the day. I haven't worked out when these are yet!

So anyway, I have been looking at our stash which is a bit of a mix of bubblebubs and fitteds (mainly whizz kidz, but a couple of other brands, too) which she wears with woolies, PUL covers or flongies/florties. I'm starting to wonder whether I should do away with the fitteds and just have AIOs. Does anyone else have a stash of just one type, or does everyone have a bit of a mix of fitteds and AIOs? I know with DD1 once she was having solid poos (DD2 doesn't have solid poos yet as she's not eating much solid food) I changed to only AIOs (Ittis and Magicalls - neither of which I can use on DD2 due to the fleece inners) and we were fine.

So what are people's thoughts on this? I can afford to cull a bit as we are starting to use a lot less nappies, but will this change again in the future, or will we just keep using less and less?? Obviously if she's sick she may not use the potty as much and might rely more on nappies again...

I only use fitted here, but that is mostly because DS does not get along well with PUL.

side note for you Lori, one sleeping bag is complete the other will be done on the weekend.

LOL I would love it, but hmmm do I need it LOL, might need them all if DS never decides he wants to toilet train. He has been on and off, not interested at all at the moment. Will have two in cloth if he keeps this up.

A few times Lori I culled (mainly swapped) - I lived to regret some and value others. I have mainly AIOs but keep a few fitteds and covers - for a really long sleep they have been great. Sam napped the other day for 3 and 3/4 hours

Lori - what about cloth training pants?

noonee wilga makes "half pints" - custom knickers for babies

bongo baby has pullup pockets for ec-ing children
also she makes shi shi nix

lots of links at tribal baby too

i should imagine that fitted + cover wouldn't be so practical, if you were EC-ing a small bub. Your bub is doing so well! Good on you for all the catches you DO get.

i havne't done EC-ing, but i know people that do and are, and it's wonderful.

In Seach of: 2nd hand plain handknit jumpers size 4 and up
2nd hand bamboo kids and ladies clothing

we did part-time EC with Ben, and mainly used fitteds without covers (or flats when I ran out of fitteds, lol)
