Night nappies on 3yr old plus

Flynn has been day trained for almost 12months but night training will be a long way off I think ( like all the kids).

The night nappies we have r great and hold all his wee without leaks but he ends up getting red and sore and dry and scaly in his inner thigh, penis and surrounding area.

We started alternating with pullup (sposie) but they just leaked everywhere most nights.

Yesterday I brought huggies nappies and they didn't leak.

So now not sure if I keep up with the cloth or time to admit defeat and stick to sposie nappies, not really a choice I want but I can't see an answer.

Flynn either has to sleep with sore legs and penis or be dry in a sposie and I create landfill

I find the same thing with Kai unless I cover him with bum cream before he goes to bed.

Can you try a flushable liner inside the night nappy?

Lots of nappy balm?? I have the same issue with my younger one. If I put a night nappy on him he wakes screaming at 3am and won't settle till I put a sposie on him, so I've admitted defeat on this one for now. Every 2 weeks I try again but sure enough I get the 3am wakeup call. I'll keep at it though!

if you've tried lathering in cream and a big fleece liner overhanging the nappy (like poking out the leg holes) then
i would very reluctantly go the sposie - you cant have your boy in pain
