Default too big for his nappies now but planning on TT...

Well even though Alex would be only 15kg max he is starting to grow out of all his mcn and it seems a waste to buy new ones if he is going to be toilet training soon..

Want to get him into a bed first before we tackle TT (even tho TT would probably be easier ).

what do I do? Can't justify buying more nappies, and disposables are pretty gross.. but we have been using them as his poos go out the side of his ittis, BBB are now too short in the rise and his greenkids are now getting wing droop and as they are aplix, he is taking them off himself.

We have some KMART training pants.. will they do the job for when I am trying to tackle the TT thing? is it actually worthwhile buying MCN training pants or will he just think of them as nappies? As you can tell, I really have this toilet training thing nailed

any opinions on what I should do?

Have you considered Bumwear training pants?
They have side snaps, makes #2 clean-ups easier. But are designed as a pull-up like underwear, for toilet training kids. Although I find that I put them on one snap setting looser than I normally would for a nappy when I want to encourage kids to take their own nappy-pants off.
They're a pocket style, so you can make them as absorbent as you need.

When I toilet train, I have a couple of the Bumwear pants for sleeping or in the car (when I can't deal with accidents), and lots of towelling underwear for the rest of the time. I find my kids learn a lot faster when they actually feel wetness. But it only works if they're ready and interested in using the toilet - if they haven't got awareness of what their body is doing, it's just a frustrating exercise in wee-catching (or missing, more often than not).
