    Default DS refusing nappies

DS is starting to refuse me putting a nappy back on him at change time, and whenever I use the toilet he has to sit on his potty.

I am getting sick of having to take his whole nappy off everything I wee, which is very regular at the moment which might help us catch a wee from him (yet to get one)

I have some of those basic training pants from best and lest that someone gave me, but we end up with huge puddles on the floor since it really doesn't catch much.

I am not terribly convinced he is ready to TT, but I also dont want to stop him if he wants to wear undies.

So what I think I need is something that is reasonably trim wont feel like a nappy, will contain poo, and most wee (I think trickling down the leg will help him), any suggestions?

    can I make some?

can I replace the inner of the best and lest ones with microfiber or bamboo or something that will actually soak up the wee.

should mention I also really cannot afford more than $5 per pants.

Also any other tips on how to handle this please.

    thanks

Tracey with the B&L ones just lay a booster of something in them

What nappies are you using? Maybe get something easy with TT that doesnt have bits that fall out, so its easy to put back on even if he is standing

We use terry flats at home, its the bulk of our nappy stash. MCN is for night time and going out.

We have had 2 accidents this morning that he does not care about. So under much protest he is in a nappy which he keeps trying to pull down.

Tracey all my kids have refused to wear nappies from about 15 - 16 months

So I just went with it..........But I was more then happy to clean wee and poo off my carpet all day.......I have been doing it for about 8 years now Nearly finished now though

I just put knickers (have never had training pants) on them or let them run around bare bum and have the potty out for them or make sure they can get to the toilet.........and hope they spend most of their day outside After a few months of bare bum days they soon had it worked out

I just figured it was part of TT/awareness and went with it

thankfully they have all been happy to leave nappies on when we go out

He hardly seems aware when he wees even with no pants on.

I am wondering whether refusing the nappy is just due to the heat and the cool feeling he would get when I take it off, and he think no way is that going back on no thank you.

I am just trying not to leave his side and get him on the potty every 20mins roughly in the hope of catching something. He did just wake up from a 2 hr nap dry.

yeah mine have no awareness of it either (ask if they need to do a wee or go on the potty "NO" then stand there and wee ) for the first few weeks and then they start to work it out .....oh that feeling means I am going to wee/poo soon IYKWIM

Thats why I just thought it was all part of TT/awareness because they have all been the same

Mine have done it in different seasons so wasn't weather related here

I just wish I had more energy to do this with. Think I might put more gap between the next two kids.

I am so not up to cleaning poo of floor or furniture, so he is staying in some form of pants.

I've just been putting C in undies and I just think at least undies normally catch the poos. LOL

I remember how hard it was to deal with Eden's tting when I was expecting Caelan.

Oh yes I remember that only TO well quite a few times and mine are all alot closer then yours

the getting out of bed to clean the first poo off the floor was the worse.....especially if they had tried to clean it themselves 24/7 morning sickness for 9 months sure didn't help either

Go with what works for you
