Default agh help - started solids!!

as the title suggests, we have just started solids and her poo is well you know what its like when the start solids. like normal poo. so i can't just chuck it in the washing machine like i did when she was only breastfed...can I? gees it stinks to high heavens and its so gross. made me think if i'm doing the right thing by going cloth. i tried getting it into the toilet and that was just disgusting. are those squirty thingys much help?

i have a little squirt which works great for us. I just rinse and dry pail with wee nappies ready to wash.

I have heard some keep a spatula for scraping poop's off. Remember you would still have to deal with poo's into the toilet with disposables (even though a lot don't bother I suspect).

Get or make a little squirt!! I made my own LS with a garden hose and garden trigger spray, which works just as well as the other ones. I wish I'd done it ages ago!! You can also get flushable disposable liners which line the nappy and then you rarely have to touch the poo at all, just flush the whole liner poo and all, this may be the way to go if you really can't stand touching the poo!! I just dry pail still as most mfrs recommend it.

i do that. its abit yuck but you get used to itnow i even scrub them in the laundry sink with a scrubbing brush before dry pailing.
yup flushable liners make it abit nicer/easier - i use them for grown up toddle poo (age 2 - 3)lifesaver!

i used the flushable liners for solid poo when i had two in nappies- helped big time with the clean up! my preference were the bummis bioliners- good size and soft too!

I don't have a little squirt. I use fleece liners and find that the firmer poos either fall off or if you stretch the liner it comes away from the fabric. Any that is left just gets dealt with in the washing machine. I'm not scraping poo for anyone! I just do a prerinse before the wash cycle.

Flushable liners are another good option.
