EUREKA! I think...how is this even possible

Some of you might have read how I am having issues with my BG elastic going (and a few ittis too)

Welll yesterday morning I thought that the elastic over night in the nappy DS hadd on had gone, but wasnt completely sure what it was in perfect condition.

So last night i put a BG on him with PERFECT elastic...and this morning it's gone noticably!

OMG....DS is wrecking my nappies.

I can't afford for him to destory my nappies, he is going to have to go into disposables at night.

I can't see how he is wrecking them. It is possible that something else is wrecking them and while they are being used overnight it's giving up.

Oooh that is odd!!

How do you think it would go using a fitted and cover overnight? I know the elastic in the fitted could go....but as long as theres no explosions that won't matter. I'm wondering if the FOE on a cover like a BBH would withstand whatever the problem is??

Mel...i can't work out what else it is....I have another thread....WTH am i doing wrong...and I'm at a loss at to what else it would be.

His nappys have stunk of amonia for the last 6+ mths over night...

Tam I have a couple of fitted here that I inherited, they are nothing flash but elastic has gone in them already, they are my emergency stash, lol, so really sit here doing nothing. I'd be happy to throw one or two your way, the least I could do after the disastrous itti incident!! I think I have 2 CTBD's and 2 BBH

i agree with the advice of fitted/cover at night. they work better and then if elastic went it wouldnt matter.
we have nappies/boosters with holes in them (our prob LOL... might be next for you but i hope not) and they look abit yuk but they work fine. my motivation to use cloth has gone from cuteness to the realization of health risks - i just refuse to use disposables ever at all now

Thanks Joh....I have noticed my BBH boosters are looking a bit stuffed too...I use them as extra boosting overnight with his BGs. Fingers crossed they will replace them and then I can just buy some covers

Can you point me in the direction of health risks of sposies...I never looked at that side of MCNs before...

we went away for three days. home - plane - motel - hire care - plane - home

from what i read online, i assumed you had to use sposies leading up to the departure, dh assumed we would use sposies whilst away (and so did most other people, even clothies, cos it was for such a short time), and i even wondered if it was possible to do cloth for three days away from home. The thought of having those chemicals in sposies on her, even for three days, made me so determined to plan, take what i needed to make it happen, and so it DID happen, and it was easier than i had imagined - apart from me packing too many mcn of course - but i do that with EVERYTHING so nothing new there.

my child also rashes up to the propylene glycol in "sensitive" "especially suitable for newborn skin etc" baby wipes
in the supermarket, i can only find ONE brand of baby wipes that DOESN"T have propylene glycol in it! antifreeze anyone???

i read the ingredient lists for EVERYTHING now, to see if they have
= parabens
= sodium laureth sulphate
- perfumes
= colours
- propylene glycol

I think B decided he was a big boy now and doesn't 'do' nappies anymore! So now she's onto undies at night for him and her nappies (I mean Boo's nappies) are safe again!

Pretty sure it's only been a recent development. She was putting a nappy on him after he'd fallen asleep, but recently he's started waking up and taking it off again. She was looking for training pants for overnight, but I think she ended up just getting some bed pads for accidents instead.

But yes... you really should try to stay more up to date with the goings-on in the Bob household

LOL....Linda knows everything.

And yep Blake refused nappies so he's wearing Bongo Baby training pants to bed and we have brolly sheets. Dry 2/3 nights, so not bad. Still no 'poo' progress but have only had the odd wee accident in the last few weeks so he is well on his way to TTing.
