Default away for 6 weeks- what to take

    hey there

we are going to my parents for 6 weeks while dh does a course in Canberra. I really don't want to use sposies for the whole time but don't want to take my whole stash with me.

mym mum has a tiny messy cluttered laundry (normally full with dirty washing etce) and there's not much room to store a whole bucket (I suppose I can store in my room- but again a tiny space).

It is really cool there at times so I imagine bamboo/ fitted nappies may take a while to dry.

what do you reckon would be the best thing to take?

    I have:
    GK and bamboo inserts
    itti bittis
    flat nappies
    bbb fitteds

i initially thought about taking flats and woollies and something for nights, but i am interested in what you think..

i would take a big wet bag instead of a bucket - much less cumbersome. You can get quite large ones. As for nappies I guess it depends on when you are going. It's not too cool in Canberra yet so most of your stash shouldn't take too long to dry, especially itti's and gk's.

I'm about go away for a week and take most of my stash with me, jic.

I always use wetbags while away too. I would take all of your flats and use those while around home but then take a few itti bittis or GK for shoving in the nappy bag to go out. I like packing light too when I go away.

Are Gk pockets? Last time we went away I took heaps of pockets and extra stuff for inserts. That way the outside will be dry very quickly and you won't need to worry if the inserts are.
I also just took a wet bag, you can usually cram heaps of nappies in them!

yep i'd go the quick drying nappies and extra boosters inserts and a wet bag
i don't know how big your stash is but you'll need at least 2 days worrth of nappies minimum and you'd have to wash every day then

hope you have a computer there - its a long time to be away from NC

Yep I would go the GK and IB for ease of drying and just take extra stuffers and microfibre inserts for extra absorbancy at nights. When we went away overseas I took those and a 2 huge wetbags that I made from a pvc laminated type fabric from spotlight.

i travel with bgs and ittis.. id ditch the flats and fitteds and just take things that are reasonably quick drying... when i travel to nz i have a bucket there, otherwise i have a big wet bag.

    Hi Anna
My nappy packing when travelling was very minimalist - for one 9mo baby while we were away for 3 months with no washing machine access, I took a dozen terry flats and 2-3 covers. I washed everything by hand, doing it as soon as I took off the nappy.

I think a wet bag is a great idea. And perhaps your first job when you arrive might be to catch up on the other laundry that needs to be done :-)
