    Question MCN to flats

As Teegan has started BLS and is making a wonderful big mess when eating, I have been putting her in some of Harry's old terry flats so her mcn don't get to dirty. I just love them on her, they are so cute. I've been putting quite a few on her each day and am thinking of using them more than the mcn when at home.

Anyone else go from mcn to flats?

I lurve flats, I must confess.

I often have weeks where I shun the mcns and return to my old flats. they really are sublimely cute

They are aren't they Tikki. I think when I discovered mcn when Jude was a newborn I became a nappy snob. I'm buying some bamboo flats as I hope they will contain the wee abit better for when I'm carrying Teegan as I prefer not to use covers while it is hot here in Brisbane...winter maybe.

I think I might dye them, though not all of them as the white bottom is so cute. Atm I'm loving them more than minky.

Kirsty, that's how I feel. There is no leg elastic to worry about on her chubby thighs. I have so many mcn and I'm not feeling the love.

When Caelan was about 14, 15 months old I found that terry flats just didn't work for us anymore. There ok if he's having a sleep, but if he didn't have a bummis style cover over them they just fell off or he got really bad wing droop. (just something to bear in mind). He's in undies at home now anyway.

Sienna is 14 months and we don't seem to have any problems with them coming off or wing droop, although she is only walking part-time . I love flats for outside as well, they are so easy to get the dirt out of.

I have really only kept my MCN for others to use although daycare have said they are happy to use flats.

That's good to hear. It was sad when they just didn't seem to work for us.

I go through flat loving stages. They fit so nicely and look so cute on bums. They look wonderful under woolies as well.

I dont have any bamboo flats though, please dont tempt me

I dont find they stay on that well on walking babies. Kai just rips them off if I put them on him now. Having said that, our mothers managed somehow

I use flannel flats when at home and often get tempted to buy some terries! I love the way terries look on bubs. I remember thinking how cute my little brothers and sisters use to look in them!

I started the conversion to MCN, but never made it. I love my terry flats at home. MCN is great for going out and grandma.

We generally dont have trouble with them staying up on Igloo. Although we are now having trouble with them holding all his wee, we get puddles on the floor occassionally.

    we used flats heaps too.
if you need extra absorbency, a bamboo or hemp booster through the wetzone helps without adding a lot of extra bulk

Tomorrow I'm going to try some woolies over the top as the pants T has for winter might be too small for flats and a cover.

I like the look of flats (and snappi'd prefolds) too, but think can't beat MCNs if I want a quick nappy change... and my microfleeced-lined pockets make poop clean ups so easy.

I used terry flats mostly when my DD was a newborn to about 6 months but found them to be ridiculously large especially when she was a newborn They were mostly used when I ran out of other nappies. I now use them as change table mats.

I've got some bamboo flats that I might use later.

Having done two in flats there's no novely value lol although I would have better covers this time.
The proviso would be that they could actually hold a pee, which the bamboo would
but it would prob be boosted MCN for nights/sleeps
and MCN for out and about for the advocacy value

White flats do look very cute on and for me are the 'image' of Baby-hood since that's what I grew up with, babysat with and used on our first two.

I love both my fitteds and flats. I love flats around the house, folding them is becoming quite enjoyable and therapeutic! I'm loving the quick drying time as well with the cooler weather, for more absorbency I just throw in a BBH Bamboo booster, works wonders! . I use my MCN for going out for the extra absorbency, ease of use and trimness. I tried AIO's a few times for the last few kids but just keep coming back to flats and fitteds.

Plus I love them teamed up with a nice set of woolies

We use a lot of flats, they're our main one at home. When they start not fitting as well, it must be time to toilet train! We do a lot of nappy free time, in fact they basically don't do nappies outside.

We love flats (and prefolds) for use at home. We used flats exclusively during the newborn period. I love pockets for days with Grandma (isn't that crazy - when she used flats on all of her kids!) and when we're out and about!

I have found different folds fit better at different times. Its a bit of trial and error.

I still tend to use the Jo fold, sometimes it depends on the size of the flats that I am using. I am really lucky that we have a towelling factory outlet 10min away and I get my towelling flats for $1 each (sometimes less). I have bamboo flats as well but some of them were secondhand and are getting a little holey.

I mostly use the Jo fold as well. As the girls got chunkier I used the bat fold and once they started slimming out again, back to the Jo fold.
