this is what I've done when TTing....

nothing, or just undies at home.

    out - nappies

    naps/bedtime - nappies

Until she's definitely TTd (ie, not having any accidents, all wees on the potty) I wouldn't go out with no nappies, unless you're prepared to deal with wee accidents in shopping centres etc LOL That's just me though - I'm not prepared to deal with that, and the toilets are never near you when you really need them. For me it was safest to just stick with nappies until I was confident that they wouldn't have an accident. Same for bed - if you don't want to risk having to change the entire bed, just stick with nappies.

Also, be prepared for it to go backwards at some point. She's still fairly young, and even when they are a bit older, the novelty of it all can wear off and they just become a bit ho hum about it all. Esp when they've got something more important on their minds. Marcus is fully day/night TTd now at almost 3.5yo, and yet we still have wee accidents, esp when he's playing with his trains because he becomes so engrossed with them he forgets to go to the toilet.

ETA: I've never bothered with TT undies. it's real undies or it's nappies here. Marcus was a bit wee'er and I really doubt that TT undies would have held one wee fully anyway, so I still would have had a mess to clean up.

eeep, Zoe is wearing undies today too. We have been out and she wore blueberry trainers, she thinks they're undies. I have no idea if this is 'it', but we're doing well

awesome thats what i was thinking t do nappies when out... but i just didnt want that too make her go backwards. she has been ing the potty for months now so hed take her nappy off and use it sometimes, wee in nappy sometimes so its not a brand new thing, she has pooped in potty aswell, today is just full day of no nappy. i hope she wont go backwards coz we have eased into it all. it would be so good too have he out of nappies for the most part as we dnt have that many and have 2 in cloth.

Isla still wares nappies when out most of the time. She was doing really well but took a big step backwards so now I just can't trust her. We'll get there...

Zoe is only young (20 months), and this is our first day without nappies, so its early days. She has been poo-ing on the toilet since NYE but doesn't ask to do wees, and just wees in nappy? I just thought I'd give it a go and see what happens. So far today no accidents, I've just asked her a few times if she wants to do a wee and help her sit on the potty and she has done one every time. I think she can hang on, but she still isn't asking to do wees, so I don't know?
She is very pleased to be wearing undies and has been saying 'big girl' etc.
I'll report back tomorrow, things may be all different then

oh, the worst bit? She insists on tipping out the wee into the toilet herself, scary.

that's great Kizzah! 20 months is terrific.

bilby has just tt-d at 28-29 months old. she's been two weeks dry every day 100% in her trainers, so we're really using them as "knickers with insurance" now LOL.

the smallest undies were too big on her (size 2/3 at target/kmart etc), and the gaping didn't even catch poo accidents, so i gave up on trying to tt her with undies, (too stressful for both of us) and went to cloth trainers (bongo baby, imse vimse, marnie's one wets, blueberry) and that has worked much better. they fit for a start, there is enough waterproofing that you don't have to clean up a puddle, just damp clothing.

we have white rental carpet, and no outdoor play area, so it was very stressful for me, to have her running around bare, or in badly fitting undies.

So i was able to take her out in the car, with those cloth trainers on, a wee mat in her carseat, a potty in the boot, and it has been fine. We went thru one stage of four days of accidents every day, and then boom, it's like a switch turned on, and she just "got it".

first of all, it was the block - she was scared of poo coming out
once she sat on loo, and did a poo unexpectedlly, that got her over that hurdle

second was the block about using "strange toilets" that weren't in our home
that one i mainly got her thru, by putting a potty in the boot of my car, to offer her a potty opportunity BEFORE and AFTER our destination

oh and orginally, the block was about using the potty, i had to find one that had a small enough hole for her little bottom, took me a while to realise she was worried
    - about falling in the hole!
    - sitting down backwards, she didn't have enough co-ordination for that, and the potty would move about, so i got her a potty with a very wide base (boon) that has rests either side of it, for her to sit down much more stable.

within days of having that, having a few positive experiences (not falling or tripping when she watned to use the potty), she was so pleased with herself, she wanted to use ONLY the big toilet. she's so short, i had to buy an extra tall step stool and she keeps falling off, but she insists on using the big toilet (wiht a toilet insert).

so within a pretty short timeframe, it all just fell into place.

we also had (and still have) the block of limited verbal skills due to delayed speech development, so with her very few words, i had to work out what her version of "i wanna go to the toilet" was. It turned out to be "bee bee!" said very loudly for I wanna wee, and "voo voo" for I wanna poo. and sometimes both of these can sound mighty similar to her word for I want breastmilk! so it's required alot of patience on my part. she is unable to answer me Yes or No, when i ask "do you need to do a wee", so i've found other ways.

so i'm very proud of her achievement, surprised by it, but missing the mcn!

sounds like a good plan Kizzah.

here is the contents of my "toilet training bag" for the car

    - roll of loo paper
    - bottle of water (to rinse out potty after use)
    - bottle of hand sanitiser
    - potette to take with me, to a park/playground/beach that has no toilet nearby, cos when little kids need to go, they need to go RIGHT NOW!!!
    - potette bags
    - wetbag ( to put wrapped up in loo paper poos in, when she poos in the car potty, just flush when you get home)
    - three sets of clothing, three trainers (before she was dry at home), now i only have one set of each
    - bamboo terry flat
    - microfibre cloth for soaking up accidents (well this was needed when she was in the too big knickers first up). She once wee-ed on my friend's rug and i didn't know what to do first, attend to her, or my friend's rug! i was so embarrassed, so after that, i always travelled with the microfibre cloth! never had to use it after that, but after that day, i decided, no more undies outside the house, and swapped to trainers.

most of this stuff lives in the boot of my car.

the potette is great, for being on the move, the potty legs fold up, it's brilliantly portable.
here is what one looks like
Haggus and Stookles | In the car, at the park, on a holiday... happy anywhere.
some people see them at real life targets, but i coudln't find any when i wanted one!

the wee mat for the child car seat is good too
    AllyKat Car Seat Protector
the absorbent layer is hemp. the colours are really pale, i got blue, and you really have to look twice, to make out any blue!

noonee wilga makes custom fit "half pint" tiny knickers too, good price.

how many kg is your DD K?
