Doesn't want to TT

DD is turning 3 in July. She has only recently learnt how to pee in the potty, before that she didn't seem to have a clue. She learnt how to do it at daycare and on returning home she did it a few more times. Everytime I suggest that she uses the potty she gets quite cross and wants me to put her nappy on. We have never really made a big deal out of TT or pressured her. I'm not sure what to do, we never had this problem with her older siblings. If I try and leave her nappy off DD will just get upset and keep asking for her nappy.

My son has only just got the hang of it and he turned 3 a couple of weeks ago. I wouldn't stress. Just let her have the nappies for a while to decrease the power struggle. Maybe there was some pressure at daycare that you didn't see?
Anyway...I don't know of any kids who turn up for school in nappies so she'll get there

i'm in the same boat Jacinta is 3 in August and i was hoping to have some nappy-less days before bub arrives - doesn't look very hopeful

They all do it when they are ready.
I've had one TT just before age 2, and my last little man is just getting it and he is 4yrs 1mth.

My advice, follow your DDs lead. If she's not ready, well she's not ready.
Yep she might do it at daycare, but all the other kids may be doing it there too.

See I too am in a similar situation, DS is 3 in August and has shown no real interest in TT. We asked every now and then if he wants to sit on the potty, he says yes and the refuses to do it, I let it go (it is a bit of game to him, he sits on it and does nothing and walks off). I have decided to let him start showing me he is ready, I am not in a hurry. DD was day trained by this age from memory but she watched other kids at Occassional care and took the lead for us. DS is not overly interested and I am not worried about it, it is getting pretty cold now and we are likely to wait until it warms up again unless he shows some signs he wants to start. Like PP said they will do it in their own time and it might just be easier and quicker too maybe.

Sounds exactly the same as my DD, turns 3 in a month! She only just did her first wee in the potty yesterday, at my mum's of course. I'm hoping she'll just decide she can do it and that will be that. I've started with freddo frog motivation.
