Default Issues with leaking at daycare

DD has had issues lately with wee leaking, as in all of her nappies leak. She is a bamboo killer so I've just recently made all new hemp trifolds for her pockets and even these are leaking.

Now, I don't have too much of a problem with it cause I tend to change her more frequently and always carry a spare set of clothes. But I just got a note from daycare that they are having "serious issues" with her leaking and to either provide more pants or different nappies. I knew that she leaked a fair bit there cause she goes through two to three pairs of pants each day, but I'd put it down to them not changing her frequently enough. She usually only goes through 2 nappies a day at daycare even though she is there from around 8am to around 4pm. I always send in 4 nappies and only two ever get used (today it was 3). However today they said that she'd only had the nappy on for around an hour and she leaked.

I know that sometimes she can have a nappy on for hours and not pee in it at all and other times she'll leak within 1/2 hr of changing, usually due to overloading the nappy. I'm also wondering if she's starting to get ready for toilet training, but I didn't want to do anything about that yet cause I figured the new bub and winter would mess things around again anyway.

So, do I just get more pants for her and they change her clothes more frequently, do I see if she really is ready for toilet training, do I have to change my boosters, double boost, strip wash???? I'm just lost as to what to do. I'm not doing sposies, which I know they'd prefer.

I also prefer to send in pockets to daycare cause they're the easiest for them to put on but even my AIOs, AI2s, fitteds with covers, everything is leaking!!!

Has anyone had success toilet training in winter? or with a new bub in the house?

    What should I try first?

My bro has a rule with his DD - bum change every 2-2.5hrs no matter what.
Says he requested the same from the daycare, and they do it

Maybe ask them to change her every 3 hrs?

I'm sorry but that is CRAP! - I'd be giving them about 6 nappies and telling them they have to change her every two hours minimum!

If they can change her pants three times a day, they can change her nappy more often - even if it is after an hour. I find Charlotte is now learning to control holding her wees so one or two nappies will be dry then the next one will be saturated. If she does a huge wee after I put a pocket on I have to change her straight away - as you know the absorbent layer is soaked, and there is no where else for the wee to go!

2hrly changes is I believe part of the health guidelines for childcare centres... a friend of mine works at ours.
When the centre had an issue with J's pockets leaking, I found it because they weren't doing them up tightly enough.
I send 7 pockets plus the one he is wearing and he comes back with 2 left in his bag usually.

She should be changed every 2 hours at a minimum. Only leaks we ever had were when he was in too long. Send extra nappies and pants.

Why can't they just sit her on the toilet??? Does that fit in with their routine at daycare? When my little 1 was that age, they were the ones who initiated the toilet training before i even had at home. I guess it does depend on the daycare also, just a suggestion.
Do you use microfibre in your pockets for her at all? That would help with the fast wees.

What about adding a microfibre layer to catch the big rush of wee and the hemp to hold it?

As well as having them change your DD more often.

Thats odd/border line wrong. Centre's should do TTing in conjunction with parents and thier their knowledge and agreeement.

i have had similar problems and i believe that part of the problem is the staff - they seem totally cluless when it comes to putting them on properly.

    I've tried velcro/snaps/pockets.AIO's everything

sometimes when he comes home i have no idea how they have even stayed on they have put them on so badly

now they even don't want to use the velcro cos they reckon it keeps falling off - it doesn't at home
