Downtime, Upgrades, Welcomes.

Server Upgrade

Starting in the next day or two we will be undergoing a server change and software updates which may cause some downtime. The disruption should be minimal and there will be no dramas with changing or redirecting domains or IP's as we are remaining with the same web hosting provider but we're moving to a more "hardcore" server where resources should be more abundant. Our space, RAM, CPU allocation and bandwidth will be basically tripled. I hope that this will accommodate our growth for a while to come and that the connection timeouts and "server busy" notices should be eliminated. It may take a couple of weeks to get things configured to run optimally on the new server, so although the change will be noticeable immediately following the upgrade, the full benefit will not be seen until everything is correctly configured.

Software Upgrades

There have been some recent updates for vBulletin with some new features added which will make our forum experience better, so I will be undertaking these upgrades during this period too. There will be some downtime whilst the database is repaired/upgraded/transferred but I will attempt to do this late in the evening and early in the morning where possible.

New Nappycino Staff

I'd also like to take this opportunity to extend a big welcome and thankyou to Tina who has agreed to take on a technical role throughout all of the Nappycino sites. Tina will be assisting with the support, documentation and technical sides of Buy for Baby and Nappycino. Tina will also be assisting with transferring the Nappy Reviews over to the new software, which will be due for release within the next few weeks.

I'd also like to tentatively welcome Lis, who accepted a support role on Buy for Baby a little while ago, so presuming she's still interested Lis will also be assisting with the support of Buy for Baby.
