So..About the Trading Room

I haven't had time to do a big waffling speech on how it will all work, so here it all is in a nutshell:

• In order to CREATE a thread you need to have a Trader's subscription
• Trader's subscription is $5/6mths and does NOT auto renew through Paypal
• If you want to offer something for free, trade or post a WTB thread, please PM a mod so they can start the thread for you, just give them the title you want for the thread and then you can post the details - anyone can reply.
• WTB/FTGH/TRADE threads that have been permitted in the past do NOT require the trader's subscription.
• Selling is restricted to a maximum of $10 per item with postage to be offered at COST, ie. you can't sell something for $10 and $20 shipping
• The trading room is not for business transactions, ie. it can not be used as a substitute for setting up your own store
• You don't need a subscription to buy - only to sell
• The trading room is now restricted to contributing members with 50+ posts and one month membership

yes, you can sell more than one item per thread - just individual price per item must not exceed $10

So I am subscribed now. That means I can sell under $10 items. Now if I want to offer FTGH or trade do I need to ask for permission?

I am assuming no and that was said for those that dont have subscription, right?

This has come at a good time with all my spring cleaning!

So there is definately no limit to amount of items or threads you can have?

kyls, the way I read it is that you DONT need to be a subscriber but you still have to go through the mods in order to CREATE the thread.

Only subscribers and moderators can create the threads, so if you are after a FTGH, TRADE or ISO thread created, you need to ask a moderator to do it for you. You simply won't be able to post a thread yourself.....we have to do it for you.

Ok, to just make this 100% sure for me if I want to put something up for trade, I contact a moderator, they put up the heading for what it is and then I go in and edit with the details about it. But for things I want to sell under $10 I can do this or does a moderator still have to do the heading and I just edit it with details? Thanks

Tanja, if you have a subscription for the trading room, you will be able to open your own swap thread. Only members who don't have a trading room subscription will need to contact a mod to start a swap or WTB thread. Does that make sense?

You can start a thread straight away Kristie, but it won't show until a mod approves it

You can sell an item for $10 max and charge for postage separately.

Is there any way it is possible for posts to be edited with unlimited time by thread starter? I'm thinking it's easier to edit the original post for what's sold/to add more than to keep rewriting. I know you can always start a new thread so that your thread is kept current but

As Sarah said, it is a separate subscription at a cost of $5/6 months. You should only be able to start a thread in there if you have the appropriate subscription. I would imagine that if you tried to start a new thread at some point in the process it should tell you that you aren't authorised

That's a good idea Susan but I'm not sure about the technical side of that (will need someone from Admin to answer that side of it). You can always pm a mod & ask one of us to edit the OP for you. We don't bite

If we have the Trading room subscription but we want to do a swap/WTB thread do we put it in the WTB section or still in the Trading room? Seems an obvious question but I see a mix of threads in the trading room.
