OK, so costs more- but advantage is that you can access one if the other is down? Does the separate domain also mean that if there is a bidding frenzy the site will be less likely to crash? How will the extra cost be covered?

Well....a second domain atm would cost very little to setup with a low annual fee. We are able to host it on the same account for no extra, but if one goes down, both will go down. If the auction site grows in popularity we can THEN move it to another host, in which case the auction fees would cover the hosting, which is quite affordable If it's hosted seperately on two different accounts and there's some frenzied bidding, the load would be less than if you were hammering both the forum and the auctions. If everyone was on the auction site and the forum, there is a high chance of crashing

pmsl - i think that is likelylook at the stalking thread/ozebaby thread

now i don't know....but since i've had problems getting on nc before i like the idea that i might be able to access auctions if that ever happened again!

So, how about some domain suggestions?

Sounds like a seperate domain is a better option. Wouldn't want to be unable to access either site at all

i voted for the same domain- but that was before i read all the pros/cons.
I like the idea that it would be 'part' of nappycino, since it is your brainchild.
But it sounds like a separate domain would be more feasible... so, ignore my vote please! i changed my mind.
