I am still using NB covers for my little man and he's 12 weeks tomorrow. I mainly use fleecie or minkee covers at home and now that he's sleeping throught the night defently. I dont want to cook his beans just yet. lol. Ive had no posplosions with my fleecies yet have had them with my BBH PUL ones??? I didnt expect them to do that.
Ive got 4 fleecie covers in NB and 3 small BBH and 2 BP's...Im working on my medium sized stash now (shhh dont tell Jed)

I had a total of TWO PUL covers with Zeke lol
yep, just two. Can't remember if they were Bummis or Rikkis but either way they rocked
that said there are tonnes of new ones out since then so...

Zeke (only 7lb14oz) started in smalls, he went to mediums at 5 weeks old
(Jake would have been in smalls for yonks tho and Brooke was average so prob smalls for standard time)
BUT I think generally speaking smalls are a good option.
oh and more than two
and I never had a poo explosion, ever with Bummis/Rikkis.
After those I went on to make my own
and later tried all manner of covers lol

Pre MCN I only used Fluffies supermarket covers for Brooke, and then later PVC for Jake.

I'm loving my Thirsties at the moment. They haven't failed us yet. I got 4, 2 smalls and 2 meds, but am thinking about ordering some more med. I also like our wool covers from baby beehinds and their PUL covers.

Good to hear the thirsties have been good as they are the only PUL covers I have bought.

Karena Did you go straight into using small not XS?

I did originally buy an XS but then I tried to lay one of my prefolds in it didn't fit, so I ask Jayne if I could exchange it for a bigger size, and with her wonderful customer service it wasn't a problem. My smalls do up great over fitteds or with a prefold and my meds overlap with either a fitted on or a prefold laid inside it.

I love the gussets and they haven't leaked at all, even with explosive newborn breastfeed poos. They are my new fav covers.

Just wanted to know how people went using PUL covers over terry flats and what sort of sizes?

I currently have in my stash 2 XS Thirsties, 2 Sml Bummis and 2 Sml BBH PUL covers and 1 swaddlebees fleece cover. When practicing putting nappies on my teddy (lol) it seemed impossible to get the XS Thirsties cover over the terry flat cos it was quite bulky! Yet the Sml BBH's and Bummis went on it fine. What are the XS thirsties ideally used over the top of?

TIA

I have bought XS thirsties (see posts above) and I will be using them with newborn fitteds and and also prefolds which will make a nice trim nappy with the cover.

Michael is out of nb sizes. He's 14 weeks now. And has been fitting into smalls for a few weeks already.

I've found the Cute Tooshies fitted really well from 4 weeks for us. I'm using them at nights with a bummis prefold as a booster. I'm using wool soakers. No leaks yet

Jaybe: the xs thristies can go over newborn size fitteds. They did go over them, but I wanted them for my prefolds I made. I also wanted them to last a little longer and thought bub would grow out of the xs small very quickly. Which I can now tell you he would have. He's 4 weeks old and already 4.5kgs, so some of his newborn fitteds are only just fitting.

I am interested to know what covers to get too.
I have 1 x Thirsties and they seem nice.
I was thinking of getting some Motherease covers.
I also have Whizz Kidz fleece covers.
I haven't got any newborn size. I worry that they would never fit.
I am using flats (as well as fitteds etc) and may get some prefolds to try.
