Another vote for BBBs from me!! My DD was v small (2.5kg) when born - I started using BBBs with a wool soaker (a medium organic wool one from sustainable hemp products) on her from about 4kg. She looked like a teletubby but didn't seem to mind. She's now 7kg and the BBBs fit really well. Good luck with getting some sleep.

Another BBB vote here! My DS was also a littley - 2.7kg at birth. We started putting him in BBBs with a BB pul cover (he was soaking through wool) from 6 weeks and he was only 3.5kg then. Like everyone else says, they were huge on him but he didn't mind. He looked like an arc because the nappy and cover pushed him up in the lower back so he also slept on a downwards slope but it honestly didn't bother him. He slept perfectly, so did we, that's all that matters!

does he sleep in a cot andraya??
you could elevate the top of the cot with bricks/phonebooks to help with the reflux and combat the butt too high problem
oh and the ellas house bumhuggers are wonderfully trim - you could just boost outside the nappy at the front so he wasn't so elevated...unless he's a huge wetter then that may not work??

We used to put the top end of Dian's cot up on bricks to raise it so that she was sleeping level even when on her tummy in a huge double terry flat nappy. That helped enourmously, and at one point we even raised the head of the mattress with padding underneath so she was even more raised up. You do have to make sure they are down at the bottom of the cot as the bub will move down due to gravity through the night. That helped Dian's reflux enough that she could sleep comfortably, you may want to try something like that too????

also, it does make it abit easier to roll side to side so i also found pillows under the sides of the cot helped stop that.

We used a ML VBSN with a BubbaJ wool cover which was great!
