Hi All,
Hope you had a lovely Christmas. I have been travelling and therefore using disposable pull up nappies at night for our 2yo, who is out of nappies during the day and prefers pull ups at night (cloth or disposable). As a reault I have just realized my dissatisfaction with what I have been using at home: too large a Happy Heiny pocket (was her sisters) and home made fleece pockets. I've decided what annoys me is red marks on legs (from the fleece ones) and leaks from both!! The leaks are inconsistent and are probably due to my 2yo's position. She (I believe) wees sometimes just after going to sleep and usually just before getting up in the morning. I don't mind changing a wet pull up when I go to bed, which I have been doing as needed. She definitely still wees in her sleep, which I know from day time sleeps, so getting her up before she wakes I don't think would solve the wetting at this stage. A wee before sleep prevents day time and early night wetting. (Such wees are not always forthcoming!!) SOOO, I am once again considering improving my night/sleep time pull up stash. I have looked at Motherease bedwetter pants (Weewuns) and Happy Heiny Bedtime pull ups (Nurture Nappies) (but in correct size). These appear to allow for the most absorbency as DD2 is a heavy wetter!! What are people's experience with these? I am interested in frequency of leaks and how well they fitted different builds. (The Happy Heiny we have did leak with DD1, but I can't remember how often - a lot less than my fleece ones!) Thank you so much for any help you can offer.

I haven't used either of the pull up options you've listed but for my 4yr old (only night dry the past couple of months and then still has the odd accident) we used either a boosted Bubblebubs like Joh as she could easily undo it to take herself to the loo or a HoneyBoy pull up which can be touch tape, pull up or snaps closing.
Claire is only in night nappies and she uses a boosted Bubblebubs (tho is only doing one wee on waking now) and quite easily takes it off herself each morning or even during the night if she needs to go. |

Thanks Joh and Tracee,
It's great to hear what works for others. When you mention using a Bubblebubs boosted, do you mean a bubblebubs night nappy or a bubblebubs AIO? They all have touch tape attachment, don't they? If so, did your boosting go inside to a microfleece layer? Lesley (on a previous communication) has noted that on a Honeyboy Pull Up, I would need a trifold or similar added for it to hold a big morning wee and she could add snaps to hold a booster in place. I have never added absorbency to an AIO and wondered if adding absorbency inside the microfleece is uncomfortable or encourages leaks. Note - my home made fleece pocket pull ups have 9 layers of hemp jersey stuffed in the wet zone plus microfibre cleaning cloths back and front and inside to the hemp (still in the pocket) at night. Sorry to hassle you with more questions! It would be nice to buy Australian made though!! (Not that I need to buy built in boosting as I have plenty of hemp trifolds, boosters from the nappy days.) Happy New Year,

Hi again
Just been looking at the Bubblebubs site. I suppose adding a booster/trifold to an AIO means I just have to sew some microfleece on top of my boosters!! That can't be too hard! cheers again,

Hi there,
Well DD2 has just announced when looking at the Bubblebubs that she doesn't wear a nappy anymore, she is a big girl!! (HMMMM) So I think what I can do is get a Honey Boy pull up and add a hemp trifold. From what Joh says, I wouldn't need to snap it in. Given I change her when I go to bed (she stays asleep!!) if needed and then she wakes shortly after her early morning wee (and therefore gets changed), I don't think the wet hemp would irritate her skin (not now she is older, anyway) too much. I figure the XL size would allow space for the trifold, I'll just have to check the waist measurement with Lesley when she reopens in Jan!! thanks guys for helping, if anyone else has ideas or experience please do add your comments, the more info the better, cheers,

Oh, thanks Julie,
I just had a quick look at the website - I had previously checked them out in regards to day times! I suspect I could do to them what I hope to do with the Honey Boy PUll Up - add a trifold. They look quicker drying, too. What is your experience with their absorbency? thanks,
