Default I can't believe it!

Chelsea woke up yesterday & refused to let me put a nappy on her when I changed her night nappy. She said she wanted to go to the potty & she happily went off & did a wee She told me she was big girl now & she wears knickers. Fair enough

Each time I had to leave the house yesterday, I tried to get her to wear a nappy but she wouldn't have a bar of it. She kept telling me she would go to the toilet when she needed to do a wee or a poo & she did She went the whole day in knickers & didn't have 1 accident

Today's been exactly the same. We've been out since 8 this morning & only just got home. She's been to the toilet 4 times whilst we've been out & hasn't had one accident at all. She even got upset when she saw me packing a spare pair of knickers & some flats in the nappy bag because she said she doesn't need a nappy bag anymore because she's not a baby.

I just can't believe it! Lucky I've been good & haven't bought any nappies during the GDUNH

Yep, just like that!
We've had the potty in the bathroom for probably close to 12 months & she has barely paid it any attention at all.
Obviously we've been talking to her a lot about going to the toilet & wearing knickers etc. & she did also just start childcare 3 weeks ago so I think seeing the other children going to the toilet there at childcare might have helped her along too.
Whatever it was that made it click in her head, I'm so grateful! I'm so excited about moving onto the next stage of my parenting that doesn't involve nappies & nappy bags. It's been almost 7 continuous years of nappies in our household.

Wtg Chelsea!! Catie just did the same thing and within a week she was totally TTd including night-time - she just kept refusing nappies all together and I figured it wasn't worth the fight! So I just made her bed waterproof and we've had two night-time accidents in 2 weeks (and I've found knickers soaked it up so the waterproof thing over her sheet didn't even need changing).

Just go with it - it seems that when they are ready they really are! Catie had a few daytime accidents in the first week, but is really going great now.

yeh i 2nd Theresa, i would like to know, has Chelsea recently turned two, or is she closer to three?

that's a pretty painless transition Melissa - Chelsea really made up her mind!

seven years of nappies, wow!

a new chapter for your family

what happens to Nappycino mums once all their kids are out of nappies? just curious. (i mean WRT being on this forum). do they leave cos it's no longer relevant to them?
