Default So far so good

We decided to try Ethan in undies today since the pullups didn't seem to be helping with the TTing. Well, so far so good. He has had undies on since about 8:30ish and it is now 11:45 and he is still dry/clean. He hasn't been to the toilet yet though so I am a little worried that he is just holding it all in. We have been asking him through the day if he needs to go wee or poo and he insists he doesn't. How long is normal for a 3yo to go without going?

I don't know- I guess it depends on how much they are drinking and how hot it is, etc.

I would be taking him for a sit by now though if he will go?

Good luck for the rest of the day!!

Yeah, that is what I am half expecting him to do. I am planning on putting a Pullup on him for he day sleep. I guess he is atleast learning to hold his bladder.

all day

just keep asking him at regular intervals, and be prepared for accidents. He'll get it soon enough. My oldest DS was around 3 when he TT'd. I also ditched the pull-ups (we were sposie users then) and popped him in jocks. Took him about a week all up, but he's been TT'd ever since.

ETA: also wanted to say, don't revert back to pull-ups if you do have accidents. It might take him a while to get the hang of going everytime he needs to, but IMO the pull-ups do nothing to help TT and just cost you money. You'll have more success if you just persevere with the undies.

Well, we had a total of 3 accidents. He didn't end up going in the potty at all though. We ended up just putting a pullup over his undies for his daytime sleep (which he didn't have lol) and he ended up doing a wee and a poo then. The third time we had an accident he told us in the middle of doing his wee that it was happening so that I see as a big step.

He love his undies too, they have dinosaurs on them! We had trouble convincing him to put a nappy on to go to bed. I think this might be the thing that works from the looks of it. Just need to try an remember to sit him on a towel through the day but I am feeling good about it at the moment. Hopefully things will go as well tomorrow.

Now that it is winter though it's not going so good. It seems to have been easier for him when he wasn't wearing anything over his undies. So we are still getting there slowly.
