If you're in Canberra, or have friends with little kids in Canberra, here's some fun stuff for the first week of the school holidays at the Brindabella Baby shop at 29 Lonsdale Street, Braddon. Upstairs from Thrifty Car Hire, opposite Debacle.

Monday 6 July at 10am the Australian Nappy Network is having its regular monthly meet. Tea, coffee and fair trade organic chocolate provided. Bring along your latest fluffy mail for everyone to admire, or get some advice if you're having difficulties with your cloth nappies.

Tuesday 7 July at 10am the Canberra Babywearers are having a mini-meet. Come along to meet others who use baby slings and carriers. Try on something different, or get some help using what you've already got.

I have also declared Tuesdays in school holidays to be PJ Day. One thing I love about school holidays is wearing my PJs all day, and I don't see why I should miss out on the fun now that I'm working. So I'm going to wear my PJs all day on Tuesday, even at the shop! Come and have a laugh with me.

Thursday 9 July at 10am is storytime. Bring your toddler or pre-schooler along to listen to Charlie & Lola Look After Your Planet. A great way for kids to learn about the environment and being tidy. Kids will go home with a colouring-in sheet, and a sheet of holiday activity ideas for mum.

Saturday 11 July 10am til 12pm the doula drop-in service will be available. This free service does not require an appointment. Come in to talk to a qualified birth support professional about your pregnancy or birth concerns.

And for those not in Canberra, there's no need to feel left out! One of my favourite parenting forums is running an art competition, with categories for kids and for adults to enter.
